Dates: Series of 4 consecutive workshops on Thursdays, as follows:

Course Outline & Topics covered

Targeted at staff working as room leaders, deputies, new managers or those aspiring to move into management roles to further DEVELOP leadership and management skills.

  • Dealing with staff conflict
  • The pressures of time in a busy work environment
  • Interventions to support the needs of a range of staff members with different skills
  • Developing Emotional Intelligence to improve ‘soft skills’ in L&M (i.e. ‘developing personal attributes that enable someone to interact effectively & harmoniously with other people’).
  • Styles of Leadership & Management (L&M)
  • Coaching skills using the GROW Model
  • Situational Leadership and application
  • The benefits of good ‘customer services’ (parent partnership) or final ‘open session’

Trainer has 30 years of experience in the Early Years and Childcare Sector but is also L7 qualified in Strategic Leadership and Management. This enables her to assist any type of business with this aspect of their development. She previously ran her own business for ten years and was a Hampshire County Council business adviser/trainer/coach for fourteen years. Since that time, she has been an independent trainer & consultant and an associate trainer for a national charity. In addition, she is an international award-winning coach (2018).
